The Madness' Coverage of the Final Game

Today's National Championship game was another hard fought game that came down to the last couple of possessions. Just like the majority of the games in this great tournament. In the end, the North Carolina Tar Heels came out of the grueling tournament as Champions defeating Gonzaga 71-65. If you saw the game, you can agree with me that it was a very exciting game to watch. But if you didn't have any chance to get to a TV, lets see how the NCAA March Madness' Twitter was able to keep you posted on what was going on throughout the game.
The coverage began with videos being posted of each team entering the stadium. You can say that they literally covered everything, literally, the video began as the coaches took their first steps off of the bus. After a little coverage of the pre-game festivities,  a gif showing the starting five of both teams was tweeted. After a couple more pre-game traditions, the tip-off of the game occurred. NCAA March Madness posted a video right after, with  video of the tip off. Throughout the game, live tweets of the score, key plays, and crowd reactions were posted. When the game was nearing its end, NCAA March Madness filled everyone in with up to date highlights of the final minute, including the dagger dunk that ended Gonzaga's chances. After the game, they even tweeted out videos of the trophy presentation as well as the coaches interviews after all of the post game celebrations had ended.
The big part of their coverage was again, the interactive hashtags. These hashtags with the little emoji that would appear after posting it, was a great way to keep the fans interacted with the game. Much like the NBA All-Star hashtags, these hashtags basically allowed everyone to personalize their tweets about the final game.

Until next time,

The Third

  1. This was by far a great championship game! So glad North Carolina was able to grab the Championship this year after a sad loss last year in the title game.
