How to Conduct Social Media Content Analysis

In Katie Paine's book, Measure What Matters, she tells us how we can conduct a social media content analysis. A content analysis simply enough is an analysis of your content on social media. These are important because social media allows for you to understand what your followers want. This is why conducting a content analysis is important.
Step 1. Find the Content.
Step 2. Determine the type of conversation. Basically you sort the conversations into categories.
Step 3. Determine the visibility of your board. find out where you where mentioned in any form of social media.
Step 4. Determine who was quoted in the item.
Step 5. Determine Sentiment. Find out what was said about you. If it was positive, negative, etc.
Step 6. Find out if any messages where communicated. There might not be any, there might only be one.
Step 7. Determine your position on any key issue. If there are many complaints about something, take note of it.
Step 8.Quantify the authority of the writer or poster.

Next time you need to conduct a content analysis, simply just follow these steps.

Until next time,

The Third
