Advice From a Graduating Senior

As my days here at Northern come to an end, I am constantly reminded of all the great memories I have had here. Whether it was working with the football team or being with my friends, my time here was amazing. Sure, college is a great experience. But it goes by way to fast. As I am about to graduate, I have some advise to anyone who is just starting their college career.
I do not regret anything I did here at Northern. Some decisions were not the best, but a majority of them were great. The only thing I do regret, is not enjoying it while it lasted. I took everything for granted. I did this because I used to say, " Wow, I have three more years of this" as a freshman. A year later, I am saying, "Two more years". Last year I said one. Last semester I said one more semester. Now, I am only days away. I wish I could have told myself to stop thinking like this, sit back and enjoy everything to its fullest and not make the same mistake of expecting the rest of time here to be the same. Instead, I should have put forth all effort to fully enjoy the experience. Because at the end of the day... Time flies when you are having fun.

ComedyShortsGamer: A Comical YouTuber

Have you ever been searching on YouTube for something entertaining to watch? Well, I have found your entertainment. Next time you have the chance, search the channel ComedyShortsGamer (CSG). CSG or Deji Olatunji, is a YouTuber from the U.K. and the brother of famous YouTuber KSI. CSG appeared in many of KSI's videos including some of his early FIFA gaming videos and his comical skits. When his own channel began to grow, CSG started to make more and more of these videos like the ones on his brothers channel. As years passed CSG began to vlog and do challenges. I can tell you one thing, these challenges are hilarious. Olatunji now has over eight million subscribers and his own clothing brand TANK.
If you are in the mood for a couple laughs, then definitely look up a couple of his earlier videos with his brother and parents. If you are looking for something hysterical, again search the challenge videos. A great challenge is the ghost pepper challenge that Deji does with his mom. He might be a little over exaggerative at times, but at the end of the day, he can be pretty funny.

First Round Analysis of the Cleveland Cavaliers

We all know last year the Cavaliers won the NBA title. We know that they are not the first seed in the East. What we do not know, is why the Cavaliers are struggling in the fourth quarter. Although Cleveland swept the Indiana Pacers and are now in a good position to prepare for the second round, the fact still remains that they are not playing well in last quarter of the game. In games one, two, and four the Cavaliers were outscored in the fourth. This cannot happen if they want to win another championship. If this keeps occurring to the Cavs, do not expect to see them lift the trophy.
Even though they are having these struggles, the Cavs still won four games against a scrappy Indiana team. In all honesty, it was a good test for the Cavaliers early in the playoffs. So what was good about the Cavaliers? Well, It is good to see that the new additions are starting to develop chemistry with the remainder of the team. Deron Williams is playing like he used to, and Kyle Korver is beginning to find great looks every game. With this coming off the bench, as well as Iman Shumpert, Richard Jefferson and Channing Frye, the Cavaliers now have an experienced second team. Hopefully this allows the Cavaliers to play a whole game. Instead of three quarters.

How to Conduct Social Media Content Analysis

In Katie Paine's book, Measure What Matters, she tells us how we can conduct a social media content analysis. A content analysis simply enough is an analysis of your content on social media. These are important because social media allows for you to understand what your followers want. This is why conducting a content analysis is important.
Step 1. Find the Content.
Step 2. Determine the type of conversation. Basically you sort the conversations into categories.
Step 3. Determine the visibility of your board. find out where you where mentioned in any form of social media.
Step 4. Determine who was quoted in the item.
Step 5. Determine Sentiment. Find out what was said about you. If it was positive, negative, etc.
Step 6. Find out if any messages where communicated. There might not be any, there might only be one.
Step 7. Determine your position on any key issue. If there are many complaints about something, take note of it.
Step 8.Quantify the authority of the writer or poster.

Next time you need to conduct a content analysis, simply just follow these steps.

Uniformswag: the Best Jerseys Around

Everybody knows that the University of Oregon has the best uniforms in college football. I mean, they have well over 1,000 different uniform combinations, and they only play a guaranteed 12 games. But what about the other schools. Who else out there has some cool uniforms. Well, there is a way to find out. Simply just follow Uniformswag on Instagram. Unifromswag shows you every cool uniform combination out there. From Florida States baseball jersey to Johns Hopkins Lacrosse helmets, Uniformswag will show you the best of the best. The other cool aspect about Uniformswag is that they keep you updated on any new jerseys being dropped for any team. The Top Three Cheap Strikers to Use in FIFA 17

FIFA 17 has been a great change of pace to the FIFA video game series. With a new engine powered by Frostbite, FIFA has become an even better version then it already was. Ultimate Team has had many updates that have made the game mode more challenging and competitive. However, with the best players in the game being so expensive to purchase, some people find it hard to play Ultimate Team. Especially when it is challenging to score. Scoring goals has always been hard, especially if you are new to the game. So I have been thinking about three strikers that are very cheap to buy that can bolster your attack and help get you some wins.

1. Eder, Italy, Calcio A, Inter. Milan, 750 coins
Eder is a great all-around striker. With 85 pace (speed) and 80 shooting, Eder can blow past defenders and finish a shot past the keeper with ease. Eder also has 83 dribbling witch makes him easy to control in the game. A 73 rating in passing gives Eder the ability to make a high percentage of his passes, which is valuable when he is in the attack.

2. Martin Braithwaite, Denmark, Ligue 1, Toulouse F.C., 750-1,000 coins
For the past couple of years, Braithwaite has always been a bargain, over-powered, striker. Nothing changes this year. 85 pace makes him hard to stop in open space. 78 strength allows for him to shield off defenders and maintain control in the box, which can be really annoying to defend.

3. Marcus Rashford, England, EPL, Manchester United, 1,500-2,000
Now I know 2,000 coins is a bit more then the other two, but he is completely worth it. 90 pace makes him a threat on every possession. The other half to him is his work rates. High/Low work rates allows for Rashford to stay forward and always annoy the defense with attacking runs.

If you have trouble scoring, try one of these three. I bet your goals-a-game ratio goes up at least one.

Why Measure?

There are many reasons why a company should measure their social media accounts. Measurement means that you take the totals from your accounts, analyze what they mean, and implement the meaning into their accounts to improve them. This improves the quality of your account. Having a great quality account can improve your relationships with your followers. Good relationships can lead to more profits. Measuring can also allow for you to get a better knowledge of your competition. Knowing your competition gives you a look into competitive strengths and weaknesses. The last reason why measuring is important is that it gives you a reason to say "No". If you get the numbers back from a recent program that is not so successful, then you do not have to devote your time in working with that program and vice versa.

Copa90: A Great Channel to Learn About Football (Soccer in this Case)

It is becoming a lot easier to watch soccer here in the United States. If you are trying to get into the beautiful game, but do not know where to start, then here is the best place for you to visit. Copa90 is a YouTube channel that literally covers all aspects of soccer. Literally all aspects are covered. They have weekly update videos where they go over what happened in the past week in football. These videos cover a majority of the games in the English Premier League as well as the big club clashes in the other top leagues as well as Champions League. Question and Answer segments where they answer questions that their fans submitted.  FIFA challenges where two comical hosts Poet and Vuj play someone famous in FIFA while asking them fan submitted questions. The best videos that they make in my opinion is there segment called Derby Days. Derby Days covers some of the fiercest rivalries around the world. Copa90 does a great job at getting close-up to the rivalry by interviewing the crazy, passionate, fans or Ultras of the two clubs. These interviews give us an inside point of view of why the two clubs cannot stand each other and when the game highlights come on, you really feel the intensity of the rivalry. So if you want to know more about football, take a look at Copa90.

A 25 Minute Road Trip Can Lead to a Good Night

While being at Northern I have realized that there are not many options for entertainment on the weekends. I am not a bar goer, so one of the only things to do in Ada, is already crossed off my list. Well if you fall in this category, I can tell you one place you can go that can make your night a great one. I am talking about Delphos, Ohio. Yes, Delphos, Ohio, a little town just like Ada, with much more to offer. For example…

1). Kosta's Topp Chalet
One of my favorite places to go throughout  my whole life. The Topp Chalet is one of my Families restaurants in Delphos and has been in my families care for over 30 years. Their food is 100% better then anything Ada has to offer. I highly recommend the pizza. The Topp has a great atmosphere to it and has a sports bar section as well as a separate family section.

2). Chik N' House
The best chicken around, and I am not being biased. The Chik N' House is my families other restaurant and is another great spot for you to visit. I highly recommend the Chicken Chunks.

3). The Creamery
After going to one of the two restaurants, right down the road is an Ohio treasure. The Creamery is an ice cream shop that literally gives you the best deal on ice cream around. Their serving sizes are insane and are made to your liking. Did I mention that their servings are huge? I recommend the Buckeye Avalanche.

4). Dairy Hut
While The Creamery is one of the best spots around, a few blocks down is Dairy Hut. Dairy Hut is another great spot to get your sweet tooth taken care of. Like the Creamery, Dairy Hut's servings are bigger then usual. However, Dairy Hut has something that the Creamery doesn't, 24 flavors of soft serve ice cream. I recommend the peanut butter flavor.

So next time you are bored on a weekend, grab a group of friends, hop in the car, and take a 25 minute road trip to a great spot.

Until next time,

The Madness' Coverage of the Final Game

Today's National Championship game was another hard fought game that came down to the last couple of possessions. Just like the majority of the games in this great tournament. In the end, the North Carolina Tar Heels came out of the grueling tournament as Champions defeating Gonzaga 71-65. If you saw the game, you can agree with me that it was a very exciting game to watch. But if you didn't have any chance to get to a TV, lets see how the NCAA March Madness' Twitter was able to keep you posted on what was going on throughout the game.
The coverage began with videos being posted of each team entering the stadium. You can say that they literally covered everything, literally, the video began as the coaches took their first steps off of the bus. After a little coverage of the pre-game festivities,  a gif showing the starting five of both teams was tweeted. After a couple more pre-game traditions, the tip-off of the game occurred. NCAA March Madness posted a video right after, with  video of the tip off. Throughout the game, live tweets of the score, key plays, and crowd reactions were posted. When the game was nearing its end, NCAA March Madness filled everyone in with up to date highlights of the final minute, including the dagger dunk that ended Gonzaga's chances. After the game, they even tweeted out videos of the trophy presentation as well as the coaches interviews after all of the post game celebrations had ended.
The big part of their coverage was again, the interactive hashtags. These hashtags with the little emoji that would appear after posting it, was a great way to keep the fans interacted with the game. Much like the NBA All-Star hashtags, these hashtags basically allowed everyone to personalize their tweets about the final game.

The Weekend in Sports

This weekend in sports was a historic one. The madness began on Friday, where Mississippi States Women's team took on the undefeated Connecticut Huskies. In the final play of over-time and the game Mississippi State guard Morgan William's hit a last second buzzer-beater to end a 111 game winning streak by Connecticut. After Friday's crazy finish, Saturday had big shows to fill. Saturday began with an upset in the English Premier League where league leaders Chelsea lost to a resilient Crystal Palace team 2-1 with goals from Wilfred Zaha and Christian Benteke.
The late afternoon belonged to the Final Four. The opening game between South Carolina and Gonzaga turned out to be a great game. In the end the fundamental ability to finish a game propelled Gonzaga into its first title game. The second semi-final game between North Carolina between and Oregon also was a good game, but ended in dramatic fashion. In the final five seconds of the game, North Carolina missed four free-throws. Both times, North Carolina out-rebounded the Ducks and allowed for the clock to run out allowing them to return to the National Championship game.
Sunday was a great day for a lot of people. Sunday was opening day for the new baseball season. On the opening day for the defending champion Chicago Cubs, things did not go as planned as they lost in walk-off fashion to their rival St. Louis Cardinals. Also Sunday played host to the National Championship game for college women's basketball. In an all SEC matchup South Carolina's women's team defeated Mississippi State to win their first championship in program history.
All in all, it was a great weekend in sports.

Marketing on Youtube: The Basics

When companies make videos on their Youtube channel, are they really trying to entertain us? No, it is just another form of marketing to them. However, they can make some pretty entertaining videos at times. According to the 2016 Social Media Marketing Workbook, these companies are trying to market themselves through viral marketing. Basically trying to make a viral video that they can put their companies name on. Well, I guess I could have used this chapter before I attempted to make a video for a Flag Football program  for my internship over the summer.
Anyway, companies use YouTube for their marketing plans in three ways.
1). Supportive Videos
You can make YouTube videos that just support your company. When companies use this, they are basically using YouTube as a hosting platform instead of a promotional system. This category is where my video would be under. It was meant to show prospects our many different flag football programs that we had.

2). Search/ SEO
You can also make videos that will fall under a persons need. Basically, Your company can make videos that people will need to search for when they are in need. For example. Schwinn makes a video on how to change a bike tier. Therefore, anyone who needs a tier changed, can just search on YouTube and find the official Schwinn "How to" video.

3). Share/Viral
You can also make videos that have a chance to go viral. These videos will need to have emotional content that can make someone watch it. For example, A soda company records people choosing between their soda over a competitors soda. Of course some humor might be involved, but that is what makes it viral.

Hope this helps anyone that needs to make a video for an internship, or job.

The F2 to the Rescue

Boredom is a state at which all of us are in at some point of the day. Being a Senior in college, I take a look back at all of the bored hours of "what to do now" after finishing my homework and I wish I had made this discovery sooner. Being an avid sports fan, anything to do with sports gets me out of my prison of boredom. One day on Youtube, I saw a page called the F2 Freestylers. I noticed the name from videos of them collaborating with other You-tubers, but never went to their actual page. I can tell you, one click and you are out of boredom.
The F2 Freestylers are soccer freestyle kings. They are two friends whose careers kind of blended together to form the F2. Their videos consist of soccer highlights that show off their amazing ability, and as well as some Q&A videos for their fans. But I highly suggest you take a look at their amazing soccer videos. They have done videos with some world class players such as Lionel Messi, Kevin DeBruyne, and even the legend himself, Pele. So next time you are bored, take a look at the F2 page. Just remember, save a couple videos for the next time you are bored.

Final Four: The End of the Madness

The Final Four is set. South Carolina, North Carolina, Oregon, and Gonzaga are the last four teams left in this great tournament. But there is still question that everyone asks. Who will win? Well lets see...
  -South Carolina
The team that no one saw coming out of their region. Well I can assure you this, after watching highlights of this team. They play phenomenal defense, and they get in transition quicker then most teams. Also Frank Martin has established himself as a tactician with all of the adjustments he makes at the half to better improve his teams chances of winning. Playing Gonzaga will be interesting.

  - Gonzaga
Mark Few finally has broken into the final four. With a talented big man down low in Przemek Karnowski and skilled wings like Nigel Williams-Goss and Jordan Williams. This Gonzaga team is a great fundamentally sound team. Their matchup with South Carolina will be a good one.

  - North Carolina
Is this a team of redemption? After loosing on a last second shot in the final game, this North Carolina will have a chip on their shoulder to play hard and get back to the promised land denied last year. Look for Joel Berry to play out of his mind in their matchup against Oregon.

  - Oregon
The Ducks are back in the Final Four for the first time in 78 years. Led by Veteran Dillion Brooks and Mr. March Tyler Dorsey,  Oregon is looking to shock the world and stun North Carolina and play for the school's second title.

The Unique Twitter-sphere

The 2016 Social Media Marketing Workbook states that Twitter is the most open of all the social media sites. To me this did not sound right, because if we are talking about being open then I thought that Youtube would be the most open since they are all videos. But as I continued to read through the book it made more sense. Here are the two reasons that made me switch my opinion.
1). The first way that Twitter is the most open is that anyone can set up a Twitter account. I recently made my fourth Twitter account, and it only took me a minute flat. Within two minutes I could begin tweeting. Anyone can do this, even my 60 year old mom. This basically allows anyone to talk on Twitter. Good thing we can choose not to listen.
2). Twitter is really noisy. All over Twitter, people are posting different kinds of information. These can be news related posts, memes, short video clips, etc. this is what makes twitter so open. Facebook deals with friends and family and having fun with your followers. Instagram deals with pictures. Twitter is its own thing, kind of like a campfire conversation between friends with three TVs in the background. One TV plays the news, one TV plays ESPN, and one TV plays Comedy Central.

With this in mind, next time your on Twitter, realize you are on the most open social media site.

Arsenal Fan TV: The Voice of the Gooners

Arsenal F.C., one of the biggest clubs in England and in Europe. Their nickname, the Gunners. However if you are a fan or follower of this club you are called a Gooner. The Gooners have a voice via Arsenal Fan TV. Arsenal Fan TV has its own website as well as several social media accounts such as Twitter and Instagram, But their best platform is Youtube. What is so unique about this account is that is strictly about the fans.  All the videos are the most passionate fans of the club giving their opinion of Arsenal. They can speak out about a transfer, a dominant win, a horrible loss, or anything about Arsenal. All of the interviews are lead by Robbie Lyle, a fellow die hard Gooner.
What makes this account so special is that they travel with the team as well. Arsenal Fan TV follows Arsenal all around England to every road game. Do not think that is the only place that they follow the great club to. Arsenal Fan TV also travels around Europe following Arsenal as they play in UEFA Champions League. This season  they have followed Arsenal to Bulgaria, France, Switzerland, and Germany. These fans would follow Arsenal to the ends of the Earth if they had too, and if I had to guess, Robbie and Arsenal Fan TV would be there right next to them.
If you want an in-depth look at the passion of a English football club, go to Youtube and watch a couple of the interviews, not only are they interesting, they are hilarious.

NCAA March Madness: Who will win?

Ladies and Gentleman, the time has come. The NCAA Tournament is upon us, and this year might be one of the most legendary tournaments we have seen in a while. This year, like many other years does not have a distinct favorite to win it all. However this years field is the most even it has ever been in my opinion. There are a couple of teams that really catch my eye, and I believe can win the whole thing.

#1. UCLA BRUINS
Just remember this name, Lonzo Ball. Ball is the engine that drives this UCLA team. With skilled shooters such as Bryce Alford, Isaac Hamilton, Aaron Holiday, TJ Leaf, and Thomas Welsh, Ball has the capability of being an assist mastermind because no one has court vision like Lonzo Ball. By the way Ball is no slouch when it comes to shooting himself. He shoots 45% from behind the arc. The Bruins are my favorite to win the tournament this year.

#2 ARIZONA WILDCATS
Sean Miller has a very talented team in his pocket out in the desert. Allonzo Trier and Lauri Markkanen have played tremendous this year even beating UCLA two put of three times. If not UCLA it is Arizona that is going to win it all. (there is a chance that they will play in the Final)

#3 VILLANOVA WILDCATS
Last years champ emerges as my third favorite. Led by Josh Hart and Kris Jenkins and Jay Wright at the helm, Villanova has a great chance to repeat.

Who will you Choose!

LinkedIn, A Summary

When I first came to Ohio Northern, I heard all of my professors talking about LinkedIn. LinkedIn, what is that? I did not even know what that was, not one teacher from my high school never mentioned this website at all. So for all those out there that do not know what LinkedIn is, here is a little summary about this great business website courtesy of The Social Media Marketing Workbook.
LinkedIn is basically a 24/7 networking event. That being said, here is how the website works.

- Everyone Has Their Own Profile.
These profiles are basically the online resume for oneself. You are allowed to "connect" with many different people as well as different companies. Your profile can basically show anyone you connect with, who you are and what you have accomplished as a business professional. You can also see what ever they post and you can communicate with them via LinkedIn messaging. Their profile will also have posts and news feed capabilities.

- Groups Are A Thing
Unlike Facebook's groups, LinkedIn groups are available to join by topic. The SMMW gives examples like Petroleum Engineering and Word Press Web Design. These groups are separately available mainly to people and not business pages.

- Companies Can Have LinkedIn Pages
Just like Facebook, Companies are available to create pages on LinkedIn. They can post on their own personal news feeds and posts. These companies can also follow other companies. This allows them to converse with other companies. Any posts made by the companies can show up on the news feeds of their followers.

Hope this gives you a basic knowledge of LinkedIn, they honestly help with making you look like a professional.

Ohio State Football, Give Them a Follow on Snapchat

In all honesty, who isn't a fan of THE Ohio State Buckeyes. I mean, when it comes fall, my blood pressure spikes in anticipation for that first kickoff at The Shoe. My dream is to one day work for the Buckeyes, where I would be able to personally get that feeling of being a Buckeye. Until then, the best way to get a personal look into the program that we all love, is to follow them on Snapchat.             Their Snapchat shows you an in-depth look at the football program. Everything from running onto the field, to the off season dunk contest with the players, is covered by their Snapchat. The person who runs their Snapchat will take you into the locker room to see how the players are getting pumped up for their game. Sometimes, they even take you into the coaches prep room to see the coaching staff preparing their strategy before they take the field. The coolest thing about the Buckeyes Snapchat is seeing the players warm up and seeing how they come up to the camera and give you, the fans, a little feel about being a Buckeye. Urban Meyer even gets into the mix sometimes with some commentary about the game and how the Buckeyes dominated. Vary rarely does he have to say I'm sorry to the fans.
I have been following them on Snapchat for the past year, and I can tell you that it was the best decision I have made as a Buckeye fan.

How to Come Back from the Dead: Barcelona's Historic Comeback

What happens when you are down by four goals in UEFA Champions League? Most teams will never know what to do, besides try and fight back. At maximum effort, these teams usually are able to cut it down to a two goal lead, at most. But that was not the case on March 9th, 2017. On this date, Barcelona faced Paris St. Germain (PSG). The Score, PSG 4 Barcelona 0 (on aggregate). The first leg was dominated by the Ligue 1 giants led by Angel DiMaria's brace. Barcelona looked lethargic, and in all honestly they looked defeated. The second leg would be held in Barcelona, at Camp Nou. This advantage turned out to aid Barcelona in their come back.
Right from the kickoff, Barcelona pressed PSG to their breaking point. This resulted in Barcelona scoring their first goal in the 3rd minute coming by Luis Suarez's point blank header. As PSG began to fight back and hold the three goal lead, Barcelona broke through once again. This time coming from an own goal from PSG right back Layvin Kurzawa in the 40' minute. At halftime, PSG still held a two goal lead on aggregate.  The story was the same in the second half. In the first five minutes, Barcelona winger Neymar drew a penalty in which superstar Lionel Messi converted to cut the lead to one. 12 minutes later, PSG was able to score the ever so needy away goal by Edinson Cavani. This crucial goal now meant that Barcelona would have to outright win the game by a score of 6-5. This is due to the away goal rule in which the result of a tie, the winner would be determined by which team scored the most away goals. Since PSG won 4-0 at home, and having scored the away goal at Barcelona, would mean they would win the game even if Barcelona scored two more goals.
Now, fast forward to 88th minute. The score is still 3-1. Only two minutes plus stoppage time was in the way of PSG advancing to the second round of the UEFA Champions League. A free kick is rewarded to Barcelona. Neymar steps up to the ball... and rips a shot near post. The ball gracefully enters the goal. Barcelona is now only down by one, still needing two. When play is resumed, Barcelona presses PSG. After stealing the ball away from PSG, a ball is played to Louis Suarez. The PSG defender fouls Suarez in the box and results in another penalty for Barcelona. The penalty was then converted by Neymar. As the Camp Nou erupted with emotion, one more goal was needed in order for Barcelona to win. Play was started once more, and PSG was pressed so hard, it looked like they were getting squeezed by a hydraulic press. They turned the ball over. Barcelona had one more chance to score the game winning goal. Neymar played a ball into the box. Substitute Sergi Roberto was seen making a wonder-run in the box. Diving at the ball, Roberto was able to get a foot on the ball. The ball then glided into the back of the net, Barcelona had done the impossible. The players charged the pitch rejoicing in the greatest comeback ever.

I hope everyone who reads this is able to understand the terms used since they were soccer terms. Please watch the highlights, they are a lot better then my interpretation. And nothing beats the sound of the crowd when that 6th goal was scored.

Until next time,

Some Tips for Podcasting...

As I wrapped up my first podcast, I thought to myself, "I wish I would have had some tips that would have made that experience a whole lot easier". So if anybody out there is trying to start a podcast, here are some tips.

- Sound Confident
When you are talking, always try and sound confident. This makes you sound experienced, even though you might not be.

- Have a List of Questions
If you are interviewing someone, have your list of questions right next to you. Having these near you basically allows for you to have an outline for your podcast and will make sure you do not forget to ask any of your questions.

- Practice, Practice, Practice
Yes, this might sound typical, but you need to practice what you are going to say. The more you practice, the better you sound. The better you sound, the probability of your podcast getting more views skyrockets.

- Have fun
Last but not least, have fun. Do not go into the podcast stressed out or nervous. Have fun, sound natural. In the end you are just talking.

Hope this helps,

Until Next Time,

Facebook as a Social Scrapbook

In the 2016 Social Media Marketing Scrapbook, it says that Facebook is a social scrapbook. After reading this, I realized that it really is. Here are five ways that the book gives to back up their statement.

-Photos
Scrolling through your timeline, you can see everybody's photos that they post. There are a variety of photos that people post. Some are of events, such as birthdays or graduation parties. While some can even post about their daughters dance recital.

-Friends, Family, Fun
Photos are not the only way that people share things about their friends and family. You can sometimes just post a paragraph about how you feel about your family, or give your friend a shout out for having your back at all times.

-Games, Social Contests, Groups
Games on Facebook changed the game for some people. It is a great way to be able to have fun with your friends when you are bored or just trying to pass time at school or work. If that is not enough, you can also join a group that share the same interests as you. By doing this you now have a social place to talk about your passions.

-Social Causes and Endorsements

How to Follow the Best Club Tournament in Soccer, Give Them a Follow on Instagram

The UEFA (Union of European Football Association) Champions League is the best club tournament in soccer. The top clubs from the best leagues in Europe are playing to find out who is the best team in Europe. In my opinion, the best way to follow this tournament is to follow their Instagram account.  Their profile keeps you up to date with everything occurring with the tournament.  This is sometimes a challenge due to their being two games being played at once, in two different countries. When a game is going on, they will keep you up to date by posting when a goal is scored and when halftime and full time occur. When a goal is scored, UEFA will post a picture of the player who scored celebrating with the post telling you the importance of the goal. For example, when Saul Niguez scored a goal for Atletico Madrid, UEFA posted a picture of Niguez celebrating with his team, with the post saying, "That moment when Saul Niguez gave Atletico Madrid the lead". At the end of both Champions League games, UEFA will post a picture of the official final scores.
Along with up to date coverage of their games, UEFA will also post interviews done with players about the play of their teams and how they feel about their personal experiences. This gives the fans a personal look into their favorite teams as well as what it feels like to be in this grand tournament. Along with these posts, UEFA posts the key goals of the games. Some are through highlights, while others are info graphics telling you the narration of the goal. Along with these types of post, UEFA will also post some humor to their posts. A key example is when they post a picture giving people excuses on what they can tell others in order to watch the games.
If you like soccer, give please give them a follow. It truly is the best way to follow this tournament.

NBA Trade Deadline: Big Moves for the Big Easy

The NBA trade deadline has ended, and what a deadline it was. The biggest trade of the deadline came when the Sacramento Kings traded away their star center DeMarcus Cousins to the New Orleans Pelicans. The official trade was DeMarcus Cousins and Omri Caspi to New Orleans for Buddy Hield, Tyreke Evans, Langston Galloway, a 2017 first-round draft pick, and a 2017 second-round draft pick heading to Sacramento in return. This was a huge trade that shook up the NBA. The Pelicans now have the only two big men in the league that are averaging 20 points and 10+ rebounds per game. The last time this type of partnership occurred was the San Antonio Spurs with David Robinson and Tim Duncan, we all know how dominant they were. The Kings on the other hand loose their superstar and acquire a rookie guard who is still getting game adjusted to the style of the NBA.         In my opinion, this was a trade that makes both sides a little better, for right now. Both the Kings and the Pelicans now need some help in positions that were traded away. New Orleans now needs guards, while the Kings now need a dominant big man. Some possible moves that could happen after the season is over are listed below.

For the Kings...
Trade away some of your guards or Veteran Kosta Koufos for Philadelphia 76ers center Jahlil Okafor. Okafor is a budding star, but with Joel Embiid dominating as the starting center, a change of scenery might be a good move for his career.

For the Pelicans...
You now have two of the best big men in the game. You need a shooter that will spread the floor in order for your bigs to have more room in order for their games to flourish. A good move for the Pelicans would be for them to go after Gordan Hayward, the star shooter from the Utah Jazz. He is a free agent, and this would be a great decision for him and as well as for the Pelicans.

NBA's Coverage of All-Star Weekend on Twitter

As All-Star weekend has come to an end I would like to take a look at what the NBA did in order to keep fans updated who where not able to watch the festivities. The NBA's Twitter account did an amazing job at allowing every moment to be seen by anyone. In the Celebrity All-Star game, there were constant updates and videos of some key highlights, for example, Jason Williams' elbow pass . The same thing goes for the BBVA Rising Stars Challenge, key highlights were tweeted as well as updates on the score. When the MVP of the Rising Stars Challenge was named, The account tweeted a picture of the MVP, Jamal Murray, as well as a GIF of him lifting up the trophy.
On Saturday when the Skills Challenge, Three Point Contest, as well as the Dunk Contest were going on. The NBA tweeted out live to everyone who was up, and who was up next with short videos and or a picture of their shoes. When each contest was over the NBA tweeted out pictures as well as videos of the players who won.
On Sunday, The NBA tweeted out to everyone who was attending the game. Such as Michael B. Jordan and Jesse Williams. While the game was going on, once again key highlights were tweeted out as well as the MVP's award ceremony after the game had ended. One aspect that the NBA did to make the weekend special was every player had their own Emoji that fans could use in their tweets while tweeting about the festivities.
In my opinion the NBA did a spot on job. The emoji aspect was a game changer and allowed for fans to feel like they were apart of the experience.

All-Star Weekend: A Summary

NBA All-Star weekend ended yesterday and might I say, this might be one of the worst All-Star weekends ever. It started on Friday with the celebrity All-Star game. In all honesty, more defense was played in the celebrity game then the actual All-Star game. The East won that game by a score of 88-59. After the celebrity All-Star game, came the BBVA Rising Stars Challenge. This game was very entertaining to watch. In the end the World beat the United States by a score of 150-141, led by Jamal Murray's 36 points.
On Saturday, the skills challenge was won by New York Knicks star Kristaps Porzingis defeating Gordon Hayward in the Championship round. Houston Rockets guard Eric Gordan won the Three-Point contest in a sudden death round against Kyrie Irving of the Cleveland Cavaliers. In the anticipated Dunk Contest, not many dunks were converted. In fact two players did not even make a dunk in their three tries. This is a huge rarity in the fact that the competing players are supposed to be the best dunkers in the association.  In the end Glenn Robinson III won the contest dunking over three people in his final contest winning dunk.
Sunday was the big day the NBA All-Star game. Where the best players from both conferences play to find out who is the better of the two. Instead, we got 48 minutes of pick up basketball. Absolutely no defense was played throughout the game. There were times where only 2 players went back on defense after a turnover. No one would contest anybodies shot. In fact, if any one of the players drove to the baseline, It was a free two points because no one would be down there to defend it. However we did get to see history yesterday. All-Star MVP Anthony Davis of the host city New Orleans Pelicans dropped 52 points in the game breaking Wilt Chamberlain's previous record of 41. Along with 10 rebounds, Davis helped lead the West past the East with the final score being 192-182.

The Three Tips that Stood Out To Me the Most

After finishing Guy Kawasaki's Book, I looked back at all of the tips that he gave me. Some where common knowledge. Some made me think twice about what I post. Some I disagreed with. But I can say most of the tips where useful. In fact there are three posts that left a good impression on me.

1). Focus Your Avatar On Your Face
Although I did not agree with this at first. The idea began to grow on me and began to make more sense. I shouldn't use a logo for my personal profile. What sense would that make. I can tell you now, I am in the process of picking my new profile picture. I am doing this because it validates who you are.

2). Repost Your Friends Post
First off, you follow people because of the quality of their posts. So it would make sense to repost the best. If you do not like their posts, then you are following the wrong people.

3). Be Brief
People who are looking at your posts judge pretty quick. So capture their interests quickly so they can see the quality of your posts

Thanks for the lessons Mr. Kawasaki

Now That Football is over...

This Sunday went by incredibly slow. Sadly the reason why it was slow was because football has come to an end. There will no longer be football to watch on Thursday, Saturday, Sunday, and Monday. Now to some of you, this is a disaster. You no longer have that routine event to look forward to every weekend and that is understandable. But just because football season is over, it does not mean that the world is coming to an end. In fact the some of the best sporting events are right around the corner.

1). UEFA Champions League Knockout Stage
Well maybe American Football has ended, but "football" is just at its peak across the pond. The European Club Championship is just about to start its knockout stage this Tuesday.  Club teams from around Europe will be competing in a 16 team tournament to find out who is the best club team in the continent. It is very exciting, and I highly recommend watching it. It might be a good change in pace that will make football season come quicker then you think.

2). March Madness
Yes, in under a month the 68 team  NCAA Division I Basketball Tournament will be underway. Selection Sunday is March 12th, with the First Four games beginning on March 14th and the Championship being April 3rd. This is the most exciting two weeks of basketball in my opinion, and nothing beats the first week. Upsets and last second shots will fill the highlight reals on ESPN. So get ready for a crazy March.

3). Opening Day to the MLB season
After the Cubs ended their 108 year curse, baseball ended with probably one of the most exciting World Series ever going seven games and extra innings in game 7. Now baseball is in the spotlight again to see if the Cubs can repeat, or if a team will start a new curse for the Cubs. The season starts April 3rd, so we will find out.

4). NBA playoffs
The curse in Cleveland ended as well. In an exciting seven game series the Cavaliers pulled off one of the greatest feats in sports history coming back from a 3-1 series deficit. Now the Cavs have a Title to defend, you can find out if they retain their Championship on April 29th.

5). FIFA Confederations Cup
The cup of champions will bring an exciting prequel to the FIFA World Cup starting the 17th of June. Russia, the hosts, play New Zealand in the opening match.

If you watch all five of these, football season will be right around the corner.

Peg and Guy's Tips to Avoid Looking Clueless

After being on social media for about six years now, I have figured out that not everything is worth posting. I realized that when I do post, sometimes I do not sound like the sharpest pencil in the box. I learned this by looking through my old posts on Twitter, Facebook, and Instagram. I wish I would have read this chapter, How to Avoid Looking Clueless, before I ever began to post on Social Media.
Here are some of the tips you should know.

1). Don't Be an Orifice
Basically, If you do not have anything nice to say, do not say anything at all. One incidence I can remember is that I got into a heated argument on a post about a certain college basketball team in Indiana. Everyone saw it and honestly I was embarrassed. I should have just kept scrolling, now I know.

2). Don't Buy Followers
Thank God I never did this. All I know is that it just makes you look desperate. Plus they cannot interact with your content, so what is the point of having them.

3). Don't Ask People to Follow You
If you can't get followers, then that sounds like a personal problem. Instead of asking for people to follow you, why don't you try to make your posts more meaningful and begin to post posts of quality.

I hope this helps in making your profile better.

SportsCenter on Instagram

SportsCenter is in my opinion the best sports show on television. So it would make sense for me to see how they run their Instagram to see how they connect with their fans. From what I have seen, their account is generated to keep their fans updated on every major sporting event around the world. When I say every sport, I mean every sport. They have posts covering the recent Super Bowl, the past weeks games of college and NBA basketball, last weeks Australian Open, etc. These posts can either be highlights, info-graphics, and player quotes about their performance in the game or on a recent sport issue. For example, In Paul Pierce's last game playing in Boston, Pierce hit a three pointer in vintage form with time running out, giving all of the Boston fans a glimpse into the past. SportsCenter posted this clip and shared it with anyone who did not get to see this emotional last visit in a legends' career.
SportsCenter also posts info-graphics, or and image or a diagram showing a statistic. When LeBron James scored his 28,000 point, SportsCenter posted an image of James showing 28,000 points, with the caption, "LeBron James becomes the youngest player to ever reach 28,000 points." This is a great way to spread the word of a great accomplishment achieved by an athlete. The last way SportsCenter spreads news is by quoting athletes. SportsCenter will post images of the quoted athlete, along with their said Quote. An example of this is when Conor McGregor said, " I got my eyes on one thing, and that's Floyd Mayweather". These quotes are able to allow all of their followers to see the opinions of athletes about some controversial topics in sport. This quote is from McGregor giving his opinion on what he has in mind about fighting Mayweather in the boxing ring.
If you want to get all of the recent updates in the wide world of sports, please follow SportsCenter on Instagram. If you do not have Instagram, then give them a follow on any of the other platforms.

Super Bowl 51: The Falcons Time to Shine

After the AFC Championship game ended, the Super Bowl was set. The New England Patriots and the Atlanta Falcons will meet in Houston to find out who is truly the best team in the NFL. Both teams where impressive in their Conference Championship games, so In all honesty, I cannot tell who the favorite is. The Falcons took care of the Packers in the first half of their game, and the Patriots handled the Steelers in dominant fashion. In my opinion, this might be one of the better Super Bowls in recent years.
My pick for this years Super Bowl is... The Atlanta Falcons. Yes, I believe the Falcons will defeat the New England Patriots. This is against the obvious pick of choosing the Patriots due to this being the Patriots seventh Super Bowl, and experience is key in winning Championships. But there are teams that come around every now and then that look like it is their time to shine. I believe the Falcons are this team this year. Although this is only the second time that the Falcons have ever been in the Super Bowl, they look like a seasoned team. With the leadership of Matt Ryan, and the young tenacious Defensive Backs of Atlanta, I think they will squeak past the Patriots. This game is going to go down to the wire. I think that the Patriots will have the lead at the start of the fourth quarter. With about five minutes left in the game Matt Ryan will lead the Falcons' offense down the field for a game winning drive. Tom Brady will get the ball back with a chance to make his legacy even greater, but I think that the Atlanta Defense will hold strong and deny Brady a fifth Super Bowl ring. Falcons win 28-24.

How to Comment

Throughout your time on Social Media, commenting has been a normal, routine obstacle that you have encountered. However, did you know that this is also a way to market yourself or your profile? It doesn't seem like it is, but the more you think about it, the more it makes sense. I felt this way after reading the chapter in The Art of Social Media: Power Tips for Power Users, but now I completely agree with what is said. Here are some tips that will make you able to market yourself by simply commenting.

1. Use "Mentions" Instead of "Hashtags" on Twitter
The difference between these is that hashtags are used for sharing topics, While Mentions will allow for the person or company you are responding to to see it. I completely agree with this. At the end of the day, putting the account in a mention makes you stand out. They see that you have responded to them. However, If you where to hashtag them, They would have to go out of their way and look through all the hashtags to find your response.

2. Stay Positive, It is a Lot Better to Be on the High Road
While dealing with responses, some will be good, and some will be bad. Dealing with the good is easy, dealing with the bad might be a challenge. I can assure you this, your reputation will be judged on how you respond to a bad comment. In my opinion, if you cannot say anything nice, do not say anything at all. Thanks mom.

3. When All Else Fails, Don't be afraid to Block and Delete
This is a great thing to remember. It is not your duty to have to respond or deal with negativity or spam comments. If you do not want them on your page. Simply delete them.

I hope this helps, until next time

Soccermemes: The Funniest Way to Keep Up With Soccer

Soccermemes is a Instagram account that is dedicated to making funny pictures (memes), jokes, and laughable soccer content.  Besides these jokes, the account also posts updates on all soccer leagues across the world. For example, this is a picture of Manchester United star Wayne Rooney updated right after he scored his 250th goal for United, as well as the last minute game-tying goal against Stoke City. The simple image of Rooney celebrating along with the message, "You thought we would loose, didn't you." This is a comical picture because the last minute goal was a huge point salvaged by the heroism of Mr. Rooney. These types of images are posted after games or after a humiliating occurrence happens in the soccer world, such as a freekick that made the goalie freeze and not be able to save it.
The only issue that Soccermemes has is that it only appeals to one genre, or one sport, soccer. In order to understand some of these jokes is if you understand the terms that are used in soccer. For example, the word "Tekkers" is another word for "skills". This is a common phrase used in these posts. Now, if you where not a fan of soccer, you would look at the word "Tekkers" and not know what it meant. This could cause a user to not want to go on, or follow this page because they do not understand the terminology used on the page. Luckily, soccer is liked all across the world, which has helped Soccermemes develop a 1.1 million following on Instagram.
If you are a fan of the beautiful game, and you are in the mood to laugh. I highly recommend giving Soccermemes a follow.

What is Causing the Cavaliers Struggle?

June 19th, 2016, a day that I will never forget. On this day, the grey cloud that hung over Cleveland sports was lifted. As the final seconds ticked off the clock, I was looking at the score. I kept on saying to myself, " Oh my God, we are up by four. We won." When the buzzer sounded, an overwhelming feeling of happiness came over me and tears began to fall down from my eyes.
Well, now that it is a new season, it is time for my Cavaliers to defend their title and hopefully bring another one home to Cleveland. But over the past couple of weeks, my hopes are dwindling. In the past 10 games, the Cavaliers have only won four games. Now how can a champion loose that many games and still expect to be the favorite to repeat? An even better question to ask is, what is causing this slump? In my opinion, loosing J.R. Smith hurt the Cavaliers more then they thought. Smith is in the hunt to be one of the all time greats in three point shooting and isolation basketball. When the Cavaliers loose a player who can't be guarded, that option gets taken away. By not having that option, Cleveland becomes less of a diverse team and becomes and easier team to defend.
However, with the recent acquisition of Kyle Korver, another prolific scorer the Cavaliers now have another option. Maybe these past couple of losses have been because of the team struggling to play with each other after having to adjust to Korver's style of play. Now the only thing that is on my mind is how good the Cavaliers are going to be when Smith returns and both he and Korver will be on the court of the same time. Add in the playmaking ability of Kyrie Irving, the leadership of Lebron James, the diverse Kevin Love, and the hustle of Tristian Thompson, the Cavaliers have a good chance to show everyone that they are the champs.

Reaction to Mr. Kawasaki

Guy Kawasaki's book The Art of Social Media: Power Tips for Power Users, is a guide to make you a better user on social media. However, the tips Kawasaki uses are more for being a professional using social media. Basically what I am saying is, do not read this book if you are under the age of 21. In my opinion he is basically telling you what to do if you want an average profile. Yet what if being average is not what I want. He says that your profile's avatar is a picture or a logo, yet later on in the book he says the avatar needs to be just your face, and that it should not be a logo. Well, thats contradictory. If our avatar is a logo, then why can't we have a logo as our avatar. For example, My Instagram avatar is a Greek flag. Well according to Mr. Kawasaki, no one will know that that Greek flag is Christos Nakos. But, let's be honest here. I am Greek, full Greek, and I let everyone know I am Greek (yes, I am proud to be Greek). So me having a Greek flag as my profile makes perfect sense to me. Because there is only one Christos Nakos on this earth that would put Greek flag as his profile picture.
The other thing that makes no sense to me is that he says that your picture should be just of you, and not with any family or friends. But isn't the purpose of social media to have your own personal profile. Now if I want everyone to know that I am a family man, it would make sense to have a picture of me and some of my family members. Or, what if you and your friends went on a spring break trip. A picture of you and your friends having a good time is what you want to be your profile picture. Then what is the big deal in having that as a profile picture. You are in the picture.
These are just one of the many things that I did not understand while reading the book.

José Fonte to West Ham: The Irons' Key to Avoiding Relegation

West Ham United have officially signed Southampton defender Jose Fonte to bolster their defense. This move is very important for West Ham as they now add a veteran defender which will improve their chances in avoiding relegation. This has been a very good year for Fonte as he just recently had a phenomenal European Cup performance for Portugal. His great play helped lead Portugal to their first ever European Cup Championship as they defeated hosts France 1-0 in the final. After playing well for Southampton this year, the 33 year old defender caught  the eyes of West Ham who are currently having a disappointing Premier League campaign. Shurely this transfer will help them turn their season around and keep them up. Not only are the Irons getting an experienced defender, but they are also getting a defender who can help up and coming defenders Winston Reid and Reece Oxford develop their tactical skills.
I think this is a great move for both sides. Fonte gets a move to a bigger club, West Ham gets a great rock for their defense. The downside to this deal is that Fonte is 33 years of age. I would have to give him at least 2-3 years before we see a major decline in his ability to play at this high of a level. That being said, West Ham have two years to find a replacement for Fonte. Hopefully, the younger defenders develop their skills in that time in order for the Irons to not have to spend big money for a big named defender.

RUSSELL WESTBROOK NOT AN ALL-STAR STARTER!!!

So, yesterday the All-Star starting lineups were released to the public. The Eastern Conference All-Stars are consisted of four first time All-Star starters, Giannis Antetokounmpo, DeMar DeRozan, Kyrie Irving, and Jimmy Butler along side of veteran LeBron James. In my opinion, this is a phenomenal starting lineup, every player is deserving of their starting spot. Especially the young 22 year old Greek International Star Giannis Antetokounmpo, who can do it all at the short height of 6'11. Also DeMar DeRozan is also deserving of a starting spot, because in all honesty, does he ever miss a mid-ranged shot?
On the other hand, the Western Conference All-Stars' starting lineup has one problem. Russell Westbrook, a player who is on track to average a triple double for a whole season, is not in the staring lineup. In case you didn't know, this has only been done one other time, by the legend himself Oscar Robertson. This is just appalling to me. I know this is a fan voted lineup, but how can the NBA allow for Russell to not be a starter. He has worked so hard to average a triple double and is deserving of being in the starting lineup. In all honesty, this is disrespectful, and shows that the NBA is just trying to please the fans and not give the players what they deserve. Russell Westbrook has more triple doubles then all the other All-Star starters combined, yet when the game begins, he will be sitting on the bench.
